Al Haubrich is a partner in the firm. Within his corporate and commercial law practice, Al has particular expertise in agricultural and small business law. His extensive experience in estate planning, wills and trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives has led to an interest in concerns specific to elder law, especially advising on matters of financial abuse of the elderly and misuse of powers of attorney. Al also handles all manner of real estate transactions, residential and commercial.
Education
A University of Saskatchewan alumnus, Al received his Bachelor of Arts in 1967 and his Bachelor of Laws in 1970. He was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1971.
Professional Involvement
Al is a long-time member of the Estate Planning Council and the Canadian Bar Association and has shared his expertise as a presenter at both of these organizations. He is a member of the Saskatoon chapter of the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors. Al was a member of the Saskatchewan Department of Justice Committee that prepared The Adult Guardianship and Co-decision-making Act, The Powers of Attorney Act, 2002, and amendments to The Public Guardianship and Trustee Act, advising on legislation that provides protections for vulnerable adults and the elderly.
Community Involvement
A long-time Kiwanian, Al is the Chair of the Kiwanis Club of Saskatoon’s Young Children Priority One committee.
