Kirsten studied sociology at the University of Saskatchewan before pursuing her legal education, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in 2005. She graduated from the U of S College of Law in 2009.

Kirsten is a member of the Canadian Bar Association. 

As a law student Kirsten volunteered with Campus Legal Services and CLASSIC, Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon’s Inner City, a free walk-in law clinic that connects law students and mentors with people who seek legal advice but experience barriers to getting the help they need. Kirsten is also a member of the Traffic Safety Committee for the City of Saskatoon.
